West Ham United have been given a potential boost in their pursuit of Krasnodar's Fedor Smolov as the striker denies reports from Turkey linking him with Besiktas.
As Sporx outlines, it was claimed by Turkish media that Smolov wanted a transfer to the Istanbul club but the hierarchy at his current team would not allow it.

However, Krasnodar have vehemently denied that these quotes belonged to the 27-year-old and it seems a move to Besiktas is not so certain as it once seemed.
This will give hope to West Ham United, who as the International Business Times reports have identified Smolov as a target in the current January transfer window.

The Russia international - who has 11 goals in 28 caps for the nation - has been in superb form in the Russian Premier League this season, scoring 10 times in 13 games since recovering from a hamstring injury.
Since joining Krasnodar in the summer of 2015, Smolov as scored 59 goals in 90 matches and could be exactly what David Moyes need as he looks to improve his Hammers attack.
